Description

The SparkFun Qwiic SHIM for Raspberry Pi is a small, convenient breakout board designed to effortlessly add a Qwiic connector to your Raspberry Pi. With its user-friendly design, the Qwiic SHIM enables you to connect directly to the Pi's I2C bus without the need for any soldering. Its thin PCB design allows for seamless integration by sandwiching it onto your Pi GPIO along with other HATs. The Qwiic SHIM is particularly useful when you don't require the full capabilities of the Qwiic pHAT for Raspberry Pi or when you want to add a Qwiic connector to your Pi without taking up additional space with another HAT.

Featuring a unique friction-based connector, the Qwiic SHIM securely attaches itself to the GPIO header without the need for soldering, providing a reliable and solderless connection. It boasts a single Qwiic connector that connects to your Pi's I2C bus, including SDA (data), SCL (clock), 5V, and Ground pins. Additionally, the SHIM incorporates a 3.3V regulator, ensuring compatibility with all Qwiic devices. Excitingly, the SparkFun Qwiic SHIM is also compatible with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit, expanding its versatility beyond just Raspberry Pi.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem designed to streamline prototyping by offering a wide range of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables. All Qwiic-enabled boards within the system utilize a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This standardized connector reduces the required PCB space and the polarized connections eliminate the possibility of incorrect wiring, simplifying the prototyping process and minimizing errors.
