Description
The Raspberry Pi GlobalConnect SIM7070G NB-IoT/Cat-M/GPRS/GNSS HAT is a powerful telecommunication module that is specifically designed for use with the Raspberry Pi. This advanced HAT supports global bands of NB-IoT, Cat-M, and GPRS, as well as GNSS positioning function, making it the ideal choice for a wide range of IoT applications such as intelligent instruments, asset tracking, remote monitoring, e-health, and much more.
Compared to the SIM7080G, this module also supports GPRS (2G), and compared to the SIM7000C/E, it is more generic due to its support for global bands. The HAT is equipped with a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO extension header, making it compatible with all Raspberry Pi series boards.
The module supports a wide range of communication protocols such as TCP/UDP/HTTP/HTTPS/TLS/DTLS/PING/LWM2M/COAP/MQTT and supports GNSS positioning (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo). It also has an onboard USB interface, to test AT Commands, get GPS positioning data, and much more. Additionally, it has breakout UART control pins, to connect with host boards like Arduino/STM32. The SIM card slot supports ONLY a 1.8V SIM card (a 3V SIM card is not available).
The HAT is equipped with 2x LED indicators, which makes it easy to monitor the working status. Baudrate: 300~3686400 bps, Common baud rate auto-negotiation: 9600/19200/38400/57600/115200 bps. It also comes with development resources and a manual (examples for Raspberry Pi/Arduino/STM32) which makes it easy to set up and use. This HAT is the perfect solution for anyone looking to add telecommunication capabilities to their Raspberry Pi projects.
