Introducing the latest version of our FTDI Basic, featuring a more compact design with an SMD 6-pin header on the bottom. While the size has been reduced, the functionality remains unchanged.

This breakout board serves as a convenient interface for the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial IC. Its pinout is specifically tailored to be compatible with official Arduino boards and 3.3V Arduino clones. Additionally, it can be utilized for various other serial applications. One notable distinction of this board is that it exposes the DTR pin instead of the RTS pin found on the FTDI cable. The DTR pin enables the automatic resetting of an Arduino when a new Sketch is downloaded, eliminating the need to manually press the reset button. This feature proves highly advantageous, making sketch downloads a seamless process. The board automatically resets any Arduino model that has a reset pin connected to a 6-pin connector.

The pins labeled BLK and GRN correspond to the respective colored wires on the FTDI cable, with black representing GND and green representing DTR. These BLK and GRN pins can be utilized to align the FTDI Basic board with your Arduino target.
